Privacy Policy

Effective date: 1 July 2026  ·  Last updated: 29 June 2026

This policy is issued by Sydney Wholesale Direct (ABN 17 691 212 996), a licensed NSW motor dealer (MD099459) operating at Basement, 39 Mount Erin Rd, Campbelltown NSW 2560. It explains how we handle your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

1. About this Policy

We are committed to protecting the privacy of individuals who interact with us online or in person. This Policy describes what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access or correct it. By using our website or providing us with your information, you consent to the practices described here.

2. What personal information we collect

We may collect the following categories of personal information:

  • Contact details — name, email address, phone number
  • Enquiry information — the vehicle you are interested in, your budget, finance requirements, or a vehicle you wish to sell
  • Communication records — messages you send us via our website contact forms or by email
  • Website usage data — IP address, browser type, pages visited, time on site (collected anonymously via analytics tools)

We do not collect sensitive information (as defined by the Privacy Act) such as health information, financial account details, or government identifiers unless you volunteer them in a written enquiry and they are necessary to assist you.

3. How we collect your information

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you when you complete an enquiry or contact form on our website
  • When you call or email us
  • When you visit our premises
  • Automatically through cookies and analytics tools when you browse our website (see Section 8)

Where it is lawful and practicable to do so, we give you the option to interact with us anonymously or using a pseudonym. However, we may be unable to assist you fully if we cannot identify you.

4. Why we collect and use your information

We collect personal information for the following primary purposes:

  • To respond to your vehicle enquiries and sourcing requests
  • To provide you with information about vehicles, pricing and availability
  • To process vehicle purchase, sale or trade-in transactions
  • To refer you to our finance and warranty partners (with your consent)
  • To comply with our obligations under the Motor Dealers and Repairers Act 2013 (NSW) and other applicable laws
  • To improve the operation of our website and services
  • To send you updates or follow-up communications about an enquiry you have made

We will not use your personal information for any purpose that you would not reasonably expect.

5. Marketing communications

We may send you marketing communications (such as new stock updates or promotions) only if you have given us consent or where permitted by the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email will include a clear and functional unsubscribe option. We will honour unsubscribe requests promptly and within 5 business days.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

6. Disclosure of your information

We may disclose your personal information to:

  • Finance and warranty referral partners — only with your explicit consent, and only the information necessary to process your referral
  • Service providers — third-party technology providers who assist us in operating our website or business (such as our website hosting provider, Netlify Inc., and analytics provider, Google LLC), who are bound by confidentiality obligations
  • Government and regulatory bodies — NSW Fair Trading, the ACCC, or law enforcement agencies where required by law

We do not otherwise disclose your personal information to third parties without your consent.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers are based or store data outside Australia. Specifically:

  • Netlify Inc. (form submissions) — servers located in the United States
  • Google LLC (analytics) — servers located in the United States and other jurisdictions

Before disclosing your information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure that the recipient handles your information in a manner consistent with the APPs. By using our website and submitting forms, you consent to this transfer. If you do not consent, please contact us directly rather than using our online forms.

7. How we store and protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These steps include:

  • HTTPS encryption on all pages of our website
  • Access controls limiting who within our business can access personal information
  • Using reputable, security-conscious third-party platforms for form capture and analytics

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. When information is no longer needed, we will take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

8. Cookies and analytics

Our website may use cookies — small text files stored on your device — to improve your browsing experience and help us understand how visitors use our site. Analytics data is aggregated and not linked back to any individual.

You can disable cookies via your browser settings; however, some features of our website may not function correctly if you do so.

9. Accessing and correcting your information

Under APP 12 and APP 13, you have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to request corrections if it is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date. To make a request, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within a reasonable time (generally within 30 days) and at no charge for straightforward requests.

In some circumstances we may be unable to provide access (for example, where it would unreasonably affect someone else's privacy or where we are required by law to withhold information). If we refuse access or correction, we will tell you why in writing.

10. Complaints

If you believe we have breached the APPs or this Privacy Policy, please contact us first so we can try to resolve your concern (see Section 11). We will acknowledge your complaint within 5 business days and aim to resolve it within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):
